She served as the grade level chair for the 6th grade for several years and this year she will be exploring new ways to contribute to the staff.

Teaching Experience This is Mrs. K's twenty-second year of teaching and fourteenth at Kittredge Magnet School. Mrs. Kennedy began her teaching career in 1977 as a second grade teacher at Dresden Elementary, then she was transferred to Oak Grove Elementary where she taught English in grades 4-7. ( While at Oak Grove she taught with the teachers who had taught her.) In August of 1985 Mrs. Kennedy's daughter, Chandler, was born. She and her husband, Carson, made the decision for her to stay home and raise their family. Mrs. Kennedy stayed home with her three daughters for sixteen years. Now her daughters are Chandler 29, Rossie 27, and Callie 24. She is delighted to be teaching at Kittredge Magnet School.

Life Experiences
Mrs. Kennedy always wanted to be a TEACHER. She remembers "playing school" with her older sister. She has always liked to THINK OUT OF THE BOX. In high school she once slalomed on a paddle. Traveling is a love of Mrs. Kennedy. She is a circumnavigator after traveling with her husband's family around the world in 1986. She has traveled with her family extensively in Europe and has visited China, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Canada, Ecuador and Brazil She has traveled out west and up the eastern coast in an RV with her family. She has also visited the states of Alaska and Hawaii. This summer she traveled to Colorado visiting the Rocky National Mountain Park, Colorado Springs-Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge Train Ride, cog rail to Pikes Peak and family in Denver. One day she hopes to make it to more of Africa and more of South America. Mrs. Kennedy is a life long learner and finds JOY in every day. She feels her students are a Gift for her tonuture, challenge and inspire.

Educational Philosophy
Mrs. Kennedy's philopsophy is to nuture, inspire and challenge her students to be life long learners. She genuinely cares about each of her students. She is always trying to encourage her students to reach their own personal goals. Students in her class have been known to say, I did not realize I had learned so much because I had so much fun on the journey.
Personal Scrapbook
Here is a page from the Kennedy's July 2013 scrapbook. Each of her daughters attended Kittredge, then Chamblee Middle. The first picture is one of her favorite pictures of her girls. It reflects their different personalities and how she and her husband learned to celebrate each one. It just seems like yesterday that her girls were attending Kittredge. To this day they still miss CLUB DAYS. They refer to Kittredge as some of the best days of their lives. All three girls were in their cousins wedding in 2012 and they are graduates from UGA. We have season tickets to the Georgia games to support our favorite Georgia player our nephew #78. This summer my husbnad and I went to British Columbia, Canada and to the the national parks in the state of Washington. The fourth picture is Mt. Ranier on such a beautiful day. The last picture is of the Statue of Liberty at the the Capitol. I spent a few weeks working at the State of Georgia Dept. of Education.
