About Frau England
I began my career with DeKalb County in 1991 teaching German in three different elementary schools. I was then the Librarian at Kittredge for eighteen years! In 2014, I began teaching German once again.
I received my BA in German, Psychology, and Sociology from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. I have a Master of Library Media from Georgia State University, and a Master of Library Science from the University of North Texas. I am certified in Leadership, Gifted Education, Library Media, German, and am a former National Board Certified Teacher.
I spent my junior year in college at the University of Vienna, Austria, studying Austrian literature, opera, art and theater. After college, I worked in Berlin (West) with upper elementary and middle school students.
I love soccer, traveling, reading, gardening and watching wildlife in my yard, and learning about cultures, languages and religions.
About the German Program
The mission of the KMS / Chamblee MS/ Chamblee HS world languages program is to equip all students with lifelong skills that allow them to communicate effectively, to collaborate, to interact in a global society, and to appreciate other languages and cultures, as well as their own.
Sixth grade German is a continuation of the basic listening, comprehending, speaking, reading and writing skills learned in fourth and fifth grades. We focus on proficiency with the language!
