Meet Our Teacher Librarian: Mr. Matt Osborn

Welcome to the School Library! I’m Mr. Osborn, your school librarian. I’m excited to be part of your learning journey and to help you discover the wonderful world of books, research, and information. Whether you're looking for your next great read, need help with a school project, or just want to explore new ideas, I’m here to help!

I’ve always been passionate about reading and learning, and I believe the library is a place where you can find inspiration, creativity, and knowledge. I’m here to foster a love of reading in all students and to make learning a fun and engaging experience!

My Role at School:

As your school librarian, I’m responsible for:

• Helping You with Research: Need help finding information for a project or homework? I’m here to guide you.
• Book Recommendations: I can help you find the perfect book for your reading level and interests.
• Library Classes: I teach library lessons, focusing on information literacy, digital citizenship, and research skills.
• Events & Programs: I organize fun and exciting events like reading challenges, author visits, and book fairs!
• Coach: I coach the Reading Bowl Team at KMS. We won state in 2024!

A Little About Me Personally:

• Favorite Books: I love good science fiction or anything fantasy! Some of my all-time favorites are The Hobbit and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
• Hobbies: When I’m not reading or helping students, I love gardening and home projects.
• Fun Fact: I have a 3D Printing Club on Club Day where we design and print fun projects!

The library is more than just a place to find books. It’s a space where you can explore your curiosity, gain new skills, and connect with others through reading. My mission is to provide every student with the tools they need to succeed academically and cultivate a lifelong love of learning.
