Lauren Geitgey

Meet Mrs. Geitgey

My name is Lauren Geitgey, pronounced like “getchy.” This 2017-2018 school year will be my second year teaching language arts at Kittredge-last year with fifth grade.

I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2003 and began working in Gwinnett County teaching middle school language arts. In 2006, I earned my Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning with a Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction.

Over the years, I have taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade language arts; however, my last eleven years have been spent teaching sixth grade at Frank N. Osborne Middle and Twin Rivers Middle. Since 2010, I have been teaching gifted language arts to gifted and high achieving students and have also served at the Curriculum Leader for Sixth Grade Language Arts three years.

The multifaceted subject of language arts is a passion of mine particularly as it relates to adolescents now and the future skills they will need in reading, writing, and grammar infused with today’s technology. Outside of school, I spend most of time with my two and four-year-old sons, husband, and German Shepherd. I look forward to serving the Kittredge family this year!
