My name is Susan Plucker and this is my sixth year as a Counselor at Kittredge Magnet School, and my fourth year as KMS's full-time counselor. I am thrilled to be at this amazing school full-time. Previously, I taught elementary school for 14 years and have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. I grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and went to college at Elon University in North Carolina. I obtained my masters in School Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. There is nothing I enjoy more than helping children learn and believe in themselves and their abilities. I look forward to working with you and your child(ren). Please feel free to stop by, my door is always open!
Hi! I am Donna Kelley, and I am excited to embark on my third year as the half-time counselor at Kittredge. My passion for listening to people and helping them get their needs met began when I was in high school and has grown stronger ever since. This passion and my later counseling work with children experiencing numerous challenges in their lives lead me to become a school counselor. School is a place where we can impact many lives by offering the acceptance, support, and safety that cultivate a love of learning and a sense of civic responsibility. Fostering trust and the experience of belonging among everyone at Kittredge is my goal.
Thank you to everyone on the staff for making my first year so memorable. From day one, your kindness and support have helped me feel like part of the team. I can't wait to see what we accomplish this year!
Counseling Program here at Kittredge is comprehensive; needs- based, and
follows the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) Model. The ASCA Model
provides standards and competencies that help create a well- rounded guidance
program and fosters the students’ holistic growth and development. Kittredge
also offers services that include parent/ teacher consultations, school wide
programs and interventions, individual, group, and classroom guidance.
Your child’s success is paramount, and we will work with you to meet all
of his or her needs. We look forward to working with you, and
implementing various programs and lessons that will help your child succeed
personally, socially, and academically.
We are looking forward to a wonderful 2018-2019 school year!
