Homework assignment #5:
Clay Plans!
Before you actually begin planning, you must do an internet image search of each of the following:
"pinch pot clay ideas" or "examples"
"coil clay ideas" or "examples"
"slab clay ideas" or "examples"
Your clay piece cannot exceed 7" in any dimension.
You will create 2 different plans for your clay project. Within the plans, label parts that will be pinch pot, coil, and/ or slab. In this way you are considering which techniques are needed for the creation of your idea.

Quasars: Monday, Oct. 31

Fun with Symmetry!
I am giving one more class session for students to get more finished on their poster. For those already finished, and as others proceed to complete their poster, this new activity is the "In-Between" Lesson. Faraj will demonstrate in class, but you will need to:

Homework assignment #2:
Drawing with a Theme: What I Add to the World 
Due: 
Thursday, Aug. 25 (Quasars) through German class 
Friday, Aug. 26 (Comets) through Social Studies
You will design a piece of art in your sketchbook with the theme: "What I Add to the World"

Homework assigned on 1st class session: 

You will design the cover of your sketchbook: 20 points, total:

It must include:
  • Your name (5 points)
  • A drawing or picture that represents you in any way
  • You may use: Markers, Color Pencils, Pen, Acrylic Paint (if you have at home), stickers, pictures/ images from magazines, color paper, etc. glued on (collage) (5 points) 
  • I want to see Kittredge Quality: (10 points)
  • Color neatly within spaces
  • Use a ruler if you have any long, straight lines, erase stray pencil marks

  • Do not use: Chalk/ pastels, oil pastels, any paint other than acrylic, anything 3D- I need to be able to stack sketchbooks easily.
  • You may not leave your design in pencil, though you should plan out the design in pencil first, and then go over with other materials. 
  • Your decorated cover is your ticket in the door on your following class: August 17 from Mosley, August 18 from Gardiner
