Greetings KMS Parents,

I'm sure you're aware of the board vote from February 11th regarding the relocation of KMS to our previous location on Druid Hills Rd. I am writing to provide you with a personal update regarding this process. The first thing that I want all of our parents and students to know is that I am advocating strongly for everything we need to have a smooth and successful transition into the new location. My thoughts, plans and needs are being heard at the district level. In the coming days and weeks, I will be able to provide you with specific details on items likes planned building improvements, transportation and staffing. I will continue to serve as the principal of KMS and my entire teaching staff currently plans to make the move to the new location. Our daily mantra right now is WE CAN TAKE THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD!

As stated in the letter from Mrs. Tyson, Superintendent, sent on 2/12, the communication of ideas and questions will center with PAC. Feel free to send your questions to me, our PAC Chair, Michael Richerson (mricherson@amino.com) and/or kittredgetransition@dekalbschoolsga.org. Please note that neither Mr. Richerson or I receive emails at the kittredgetransition address. Those go directly to the district.

I have heard so many positive comments and ideas from our KMS community. Your support of us and offers of help are so appreciated! Your positivity and get-it-done attitude is a major morale booster for us as we work through the many details of planning for the transition. I have also spoken with a few nervous parents and students in the last week. My message to them and to all of you is to hang in there with us! We are going to make this move like true high achievers! All will be well.

Sincerely,

Dr. Neely, Principal
